SERS offers a full turn-key solution to Free Span and Scour issues. SERS can deliver streamlined solutions via a range of different methods according to our clients requirements and the specifics of the Free Spans in question.

When pipes are exposed to Free Spans vortex induced vibrations (VIV) can cause the pipeline to fatigue severely reducing the pipeline design life. Therefore pipelines should be periodically monitored. When such Free Spans exceeding acceptable limits are identified, the Free Span must be rectified to avoid inevitable fatigue damage to the pipeline.

SERS monitors pipeline/ other problem areas susceptible to Free Span/ Scour issues, provide detailed survey data, identify/ assess Free Span specifics, provide the pre-engineering and fix options available, provide project management and deliver the optimum Free Span rectification works needed (grout bag, mattresses, PLT, etc.).

SERS offers a unique long term solution to problematic areas which are constantly affected by Free Span by offering clients a solution to lower the pipeline below the seabed (Pipeline Lowering). This is done by using a Mass Flow Tool and is constantly faster and more cost effective than other more traditional methods.
